SOURSTOP is a nitrate-based treatment that stops H2S at the source by preventing sulphide formation, providing an effective solution for H2S odour and corrosion control in municipal and industrial wastewaters. Excellent option for treatment of wastewater in sewer systems.

Sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRBs) thrive in these systems because there is no oxygen and plenty of sulphate, which they convert to toxic and corrosive sulphides. SOURSTOP supplies nitrate, a bound-oxygen source that bacteria use ahead of sulphate. With nitrate present, sulphide formation is suppressed and dissolved sulphides are removed from the wastewater, preventing the formation of H2S.
